Hey all, With the academic job search season coming up soon, I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else is planning on applying for faculty positions (e.g., tenure-track or teaching jobs) this upcoming cycle? I think it would be great to build some sort of cohort, as my VT friends who went through this last year found it pretty helpful and supportive as they navigated the (confusing/scary/exciting) faculty job search process. Good afternoon MEng CS students, If you are planning to graduate this semester, then you must Apply for Degree by Friday, October 1, 2021 in HokieSPA under Degree Menu-Graduate Students-Application for Degree. You must have an approved Plan of Study. You can check in HokieSPA under Degree Menu-Graduate Students-Plan of Study to ensure you have received Graduate School approval. Please review the Graduate School Graduation Requirements <https://graduateschool.vt.edu/academics/what-you-need-to-graduate/graduatio n-requirements.html> page. The window of time to schedule your Final Exam/Evaluation is November 1 - 30, 2021. You will be receiving instructions for scheduling on Friday, October 15, 2021. The MEng CS program does not have a final exam. What you are actually scheduling is an administrative trigger to the Graduate School to review your record for graduation. Beginning next Wednesday, October 6, 2021, my in-person office hours will change to 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. This change is temporary. I will have late in-person hours again, very soon.
