In the Consulting Group, we are seeking student input and opinions for Reimagining DiVersiTy, which is seeking to explore student interest in immersive spaces, such as AR/VR environments where students can learn more about other cultures. We would really appreciate it if you were able to send the following message (below) out to the faculty/students on your Listservs so we could gain participation for the focus groups we are holding. Reimagining DiVersiTy is a group at Virginia Tech whose goal is to provide a better implementation of diversity and inclusion within modern society. Their goal is to use AR/VR technologies to better teach the general Virginia Tech body about their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. The Consulting Group at Virginia Tech is helping them seek input from the student population to optimize their efforts. We conducted a survey last semester which was sent out all throughout campus, and to build off on that, the Consulting Group is conducting focus groups this semester. This focus group will help Reimagining DiVersiTy gain insight in the interest of implement new technologies right here on campus, such as immersive learning experiences using AR/VR environments.These focus group sessions will last no more than one hour and their purpose is to further the discussion of Diversity & Inclusion engagement at Virginia Tech through immersive (Virtual Reality/Artificial Reality) spaces.
