Dear colleagues and students, This is a kind reminder that you are welcome to attend our invited talks starting next week. All the talks will take place on my Zoom: https://virginiatech.zoom.us/j/8682759193. Below is a brief overview of our invited speakers and topics: 1. Yu Meng (4/10, Wed): Assistant Professor, University of Virginia. Yu will talk about general training algorithms/applications of LLMs. 1. Jessica Newman (4/15, Mon): Founder and Director of the AI Security Initiative, UC Berkeley. Jessica is the author of the popular report "A Taxonomy of Trustworthiness for Artificial Intelligence<https://cltc.berkeley.edu/publication/a-taxonomy-of-trustworthiness-for-art…>”. Jessica will first introduce the US National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) and then talk about AI Trustworthiness and Risk Management. 1. Haohan Wang (4/17, Wed): Assistant Professor, University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. Haohan will talk about their recent work on jailbreaks in large language models. 1. Ziang Xiao (4/22, Mon): Assistant Professor, Johns Hopkins University. Ziang will talk about human-centered AI with LLMs and their recent work on AI chatbots for information seeking. 1. Boxin Wang (4/24, Wed): Research Scientist, Nvidia. Boxin will talk about their recent work, DecodingTrust, providing a comprehensive assessment of trustworthiness in GPT models (NeurIPS 2023 Outstanding Paper Award).
