Hello Dr. Ribbens,
I wanted to share some information on MetroLab Network’s first ever Student Cup, a prize competition relevant to your work. MetroLabNetwork<http://www.metrolabnetwork.org> is an international collaborative of cities and universities working on data-, technology-, and design-oriented civic research and innovation; Virginia Tech is a member and this competition is open solely to MetroLab Network member universities.
We are in regular touch with Lauren Bulka and Anne Khademian (lbulka(a)vt.edu<mailto:lbulka@vt.edu>, akhademi(a)vt.edu<mailto:akhademi@vt.edu>) at your institution. Given the focus of your work, we wanted to reach out directly about the MetroLab Student Cup, thinking that you could help promote this opportunity to interested students and recent graduates. I have included some key information below, and encourage you to share with any students and colleagues who may be interested.
MetroLab Student Cup
Students and recent graduates at MetroLab’s member universities will submit completed civic research projects for the chance to win one of five $1,000 prizes and to be featured as the MetroLab Network Innovation of the Month.
